Are you new to couponing? Not sure where to start? Overwhelmed with all the paper? Never fear, QponCutie, your Frugalista about town, is here to help! In no time, you’ll be a certified Coupon Crusader! Just check out my Couponing lessons, which I will break down for you here over the next week or so, and you’ll be up and running in no time!! I would advise you to subscribe to each lesson, as I will edit and add more info as my brain keeps rolling on the subject.
Lesson One
I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. You have to get the coupons to get the savings!! Start by getting the Sunday paper. That’s where 90% of the coupons you will use are found. You will need to subscribe to the paper with the largest circulation in your area. I recommend subscribing because preference is given to subscribers when the inserts are added to the paper. If you don’t subscribe, make sure you flip through the paper before you buy it to ensure that the coupons are in there! If you are not sure which inserts will be in the paper, check out TaylorTown Preview for a sneak peek at which inserts will be out each weekend. If you live in the Philadelphia area, as I do, you can subscribe to the Philadelphia Inquirer for $1.00/week (Sunday only). Be aware that this deal is ONLY valid on MONDAYS. Visit the Philadelphia Inquirer to subscribe. This offer is for new subscribers only.
Now, get clipping! I like to clip at night, while watching TV. Sunday nights are great for me, I can get everything clipped and filed while I get my Desperate Housewives fix!!
Next, we’ll talk a little about organizing, and getting your list together!

I usually do it on Sunday nights during my Desperate Housewives fix, as I talked about in Lesson One. [...]
